Package: xscreensaver-data-extra
Version: 5.15-3
Severity: normal
Phosphor screensaver run slow during fading
I don't understand if it's a normal behaviour or a bug. The phosphor
screensaver becomes slow when the screen is completely written and the
text scrolls upwards.
During the "fade to black" of the old green text I have seen that the
new row is written more slowly than normal.
If I enable the framerate I see that this really slows during the the
fading of old text.
I use this screen saver on two machines (a dual and a six cores AMD
machines) with powerful (and fully supported by open source drivers)
AMD/ATI Radeon graphics cards; I have experienced this problem on both.
