Hi. I'm no longer convinced my patch helps things, nor that I understood the root cause of the problem. I'm quite convinced that under pulseaudio, speech is getting chopped.
But, I'm noticing that it's actually using alsa (presumably via portaudio) and pulse via that, rather than the direct pulse support. Not sure what's up with that.
