And BTW, why do I need to install codecs? % aptitude search 'gstreamer1.0-plugins ~i' i A gstreamer1.0-plugins-base - GStreamer plugins from the "base" set i A gstreamer1.0-plugins-good - GStreamer plugins from the "good" set I installed the -bad set and now I can play mp3 files. I'd say banshee should promote the Suggests to Recommends of the -bad set (how likely is it that someone doesn't have mp3 files installed?).
