I've been corresponding with somebody in the mentors process

His email signatures were all bad

I eventually figured out this issue was to blame. I manually edited one
of his messages to remove line wraps and then I was able to verify the
signature successfully with gpg, so I can confirm it is definitely this
bug causing the problem for him. The message bodies are text, not HTML.

Things like this are a real drag on productivity for a workflow that is
fundamental to maintaining Debian itself - I don't understand why it is
only classified as a minor issue. Could you please consider a fix (or
even some warning popup for people who have the wrong settings) for stable?

Both myself and the other person are using Enigmail and gpg on wheezy

Now I'm scratching my head wondering how many other messages may have
been sent out (e.g. release announcements on public lists) with broken
signatures - making senders look somewhat foolish and potentially
undermining the credibility of communications about release
announcements, etc.
