Similarly, when pressing the ^ key twice. If I press in a virtual terminal '^^ ' , a '^' will be echoet though. Entering these key combinations in Chatzilla's command line will echo these characters . After '~$ killall ibus-daemon' I can enter 'AltGr++' twice, and will obtain as an echo a tilde, as expected. Likewise for entering '^' twice in a uxterm. -- ' /usr/bin/ibus-daemon --daemonize' starts all ibus-related processes as before with one exception: The process '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ibus/ibus-x11 --kill-daemon' is not started. And I can type tilde and ^ normally. '~$ LANG=C aptitude why ibus; Unable to find a reason to install ibus.' - Hehe. I wonder why the DEB program package »ibus« crept onto my computer. I definitely did not do '~$ sudo apt-get install ibus.'
