Some good news. After a system restart:

Reinstalling colord via synaptic:
---
(Reading database ... 172176 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace colord 0.1.21-1 (using .../colord_0.1.21-1_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement colord ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up colord (0.1.21-1) ...
W: Waited for dpkg --assert-multi-arch but it wasn't there - dpkgGo
(10: No child processes)
---

Reinstalling an unrelated package via synaptic:
---
(Reading database ... 172176 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace feh 2.3-2 (using .../archives/feh_2.3-2_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement feh ...
Processing triggers for mime-support ...
Processing triggers for gnome-menus ...
Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up feh (2.3-2) ...
W: Waited for dpkg --assert-multi-arch but it wasn't there - dpkgGo
(10: No child processes)
---

And reinstalling the same package via apt-get -V --reinstall install feh:
---
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 reinstalled, 0 to remove and 13 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/194 kB of archives.
After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used.

While removing another package, I even got nice lines saying:
---
Setting up colord (0.1.21-1) ...
Setting up gnome-color-manager (3.4.2-1) ...
Setting up gnome (1:3.4+7) ...
---

Essentially, there is now just one issue: the warning issued by
synaptic. That doesn't look related to colord.
