Just realized that without the patch the logrotate is running but generates nothing but 20 byte empty compressed log files and let's the tt-rss log file keep growing in size...
After the patch, the logrotate actually compresses the tt-rss logfile properly. So the patch is definitely an improvement... Although I get an e-mail to root about the tt-rss daemon restarting everyday :).
