Dear Maintainer,
The upower package seems to have a problem with laptop display panel brightness settings (at least in conjunction with KDE 4.8.4's power management applet) in that if I move the slider all the way up, the back-light turns off, and it's already at maximum brightness when the slider is at 50%. (As well, the back-light turns off when the slider is all the way down, but that makes much more sense and may be intentional.)

This is an HP EliteBook 8440p with Seiko/Epson display panel and nVidia NVS 3100M using the proprietary driver (nvidia-glx + nvidia-kernel-dkms packages.)
