I agree that Recommending "gnumeric-doc" is better than suggesting.
This will be corrected with next upload.

To me arguments how ubuntu handles this (and why) are irrelevant.
Furthermore I will not let such considerations to influence my
decision making.

Although in this case the benefits of the change are pretty obvious,
for other reports it would be more convincing if you mention how it is
better for those who use "gnumeric" in Debian and why (without
mentioning ubuntu).
