the footer on the list summary pages (http://lists.debian.org/<list>) indicates the following. To report a problem with the web site, e-mail debian-...@lists.debian.org. For other contact information, see the Debian contact page. This is misleading, as there is a more appropriate information in another part that seems to be intended as a footer as well: You may submit bugs against the list archives using the lists.debian.org pseudo-package or contact the maintainer at listarchi...@debian.org. See the Debian contact page for further information on contacting us. The main problem is that it induces people to make private requests (in particular requests for removal) on a publicly archived mailing list (the domain name is not enough to conclude that a list is public).
