Ah ok, sorry, well I thought you were complaining about the emacs behaviour because I don't quite see the point of showing those extra chars. I agree that having to press backspace to delete those invisible chars is not nice though, I never noticed because it's about that point where I press C-g -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
