Sorry for being silent about this. We (the members of the Debian JED Group) are also unhappy with this situation. Version 0.99.17.111-1 of jed is sitting on experimental, waiting until we get jed-extra in a releasable state. That said, any help that you give us will be precious. Consider also joining the DJG.
