Package: upstart Version: 1.6.1-1 Severity: wishlist Control: block -1 by 709481
As far as I can see, Upstart is in principle usable with file-rc. I tested it in an LXC container with my patch in #709481, and it seemed to at least bring up a reasonable system when a single service is defined as an Upstart job and a single service is defined as a traditional init script. I have no interest in file-rc myself, but I know some others do, and it would be nice for there to be as few roadblocks as possible to using Upstart. Once the patch in #709481 is applied, is there any reason why upstart should depend specifically on sysv-rc? It seems to me that it could just rely on the sysv-rc | file-rc dependency in initscripts.
