Yes it works, and it passes all regression tests provided with WebGUI. That's the workaround others found and I confirmed here http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=681564#80 It seems to be an interaction between the latest Data::Alias and mod_perl.
