Thanks for your feedback and there's no need to apologize :)
If you don't mind, will keep this open until I put a debconf note to make
clear these plugins are not available anymore when upgrading from pre-3.9.1
versions (and their replacement, as you already discovered; I'm sorry I
couldn't answer before). This can ease the future wheezy → jessie upgrade.
