The issue is that the user expects fetchmail to get along with setting \Deleted, but in fact it additionally sets \Seen. Achieving this requires changes that are unsuitable for the 6.X series of fetchmail releases, and requires SEARCH by flags, which not all servers implement. Cloning bug to wishlist; Nico, feel free to reopen this and merge the bugs.
