Package: forked-daapd
Version: 0.19gcd-2.1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
Upgrade to Debian wheezy (7.0) from mixed squeeze and testing (wheezy).
Over 4 months preparing for a stable upgrade by not getting packages from
unstable :-)

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
  ineffective)?
During/after upgrade there where no issues detected by the system.
Only when I wanted to play some music I noticed the starting of forked-daapd
failed silently.
  1) dpkg-reconfigure and reinstalling; overwriting config-files
  2) installing from deb-multimedia.org
  3) forcing 0.19-1~bpo60+1 (sqeeze-backports)
  4) adding oldstable to sources and installing that version (0.12)

* What was the outcome of this action?
  1) no change in situation -> failed
  2) same as 1)
  3) again, same as 1); It wouldn't buy my symlinks to libavcodec.so.52 from
libavcodec.so.53
  4) hoera! I'm saved....

* What outcome did you expect instead?
That it would "just work" (Spoiled I know; Thanks for that experience!)

Because it disappears after starting(1) it, there is nothing to log(2):
  (1)
  :/tmp# /etc/init.d/forked-daapd start
Starting RSP and DAAP media server: main: Forked Media Server Version
0.19gcd taking off
  ERROR.
  (2)
  less /var/log/forked-daapd.log
[2013-05-09 21:37:51] main: Forked Media Server Version 0.19gcd taking off
[2013-05-09 21:38:11] main: Forked Media Server Version 0.19gcd taking off
[2013-05-09 21:38:28] main: Forked Media Server Version 0.19gcd taking off
Previously it would write about a PID in the logfile; I hope I get it
attached...
