Package: bacula-director-common Version: 1.36.3-1b Severity: wishlist When I activated the BackupCatalog job in bacula-dir.conf, I got this: 25-Oct 01:40 wheat-dir: RunBefore: Password: 25-Oct 01:40 wheat-dir: RunBefore: pg_dump: [archiver (db)] connection to database "bacula" failed: fe_sendauth: no password supplied 25-Oct 01:40 wheat-dir: Start Backup JobId 225, Job=BackupCatalog.2005-10-25_01.05.07
And this status Non-fatal FD errors: 0 SD Errors: 0 FD termination status: OK SD termination status: OK Termination: Backup OK This raises a couple of issues: 1. I think the failure of the RunBefore script should stop operations and result in an overall failure report. I notice the make_catalag_backup script provided does an unconditional exit 0 at the end. Probably it needs to pass back the exit status of the command just executed. I'm not enough of a shell guru to know how that's done. 2. The script doesn't work. Possibly this has something to do with the Debian-specific setup of accounts for bacula and postgres. I'll note that I *think* (but am not sure) that server side scripts (RunBefore) run as bacula, while client-side scripts run as root. So it might work as root. That doesn't help, because this needs to run on the server. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (990, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27advncdfs Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages bacula-director-common depends on: ii bacula-common 1.36.3-1b Network backup, recovery and verif ii debconf 1.4.58 Debian configuration management sy ii exim [mail-transport-agent] 3.36-17 An MTA (Mail Transport Agent) ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-2 GCC support library ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.6-7 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libwrap0 7.6.dbs-8 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra bacula-director-common recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
