We are just days before the release of Debian Wheezy (and hence Testing is in deep freeze). This also means that no new Apache versions will be included in Wheezy, just security fixes will be backported. Wheezy will be shipped with Apache 2.2.22. For Debian Unstable it is planned to move over to Apache 2.4 quite soon after the release of Debian Wheezy. Apache 2.4 is already in Debian Experimental: http://packages.debian.org/experimental/apache2 See http://wiki.debian.org/Apache2Transition for details. So I suspect that newer Apache 2.2 releases are of no big interest for Debian anymore -- with the expection of security patches for Wheezy and Squeeze of course.
