Do you have any idea how pam_winbind is breaking your login? Is there an easy
way to reproduce this?

In squeeze, the winbind pam and nss modules are in the winbind package. For
wheezy, winbind recommends libpam-winbind and libnss-winbind to make sure
upgrades from squeeze to wheezy pull in those modules to avoid breaking
existing setups.
Some users even requested that this relation be upgraded to depends (#674853),
which we didn't do.

Post wheezy, this recommends can be lowered.

Cheers,

Ivo
