And, for a reference (though not a policy one): <http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#bpp-dbg>: "A debug package is a package with a name ending in -dbg, that contains additional information that gdb can use". Sounds entirely reasonable and fairly un-disruptive. I guess we'll want a transitional dummy package for a release cycle, but there are no reverse deps. Also, the package description should probably be revised, since it doesn't make explicit mention of debugging symbols, only enabling debugging features within perl.
