Package: src:linux Version: 3.2.41-2 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? Using CIFS mounted network drive and keeping the mount over daily laptop suspend and resumes. Networking is always available. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Kernel hang-up happens when an application uses "Open" dialog and triggers acces to network drives as well. In this case keepassx application, but repeated earlier with Kate editor several times. * What was the outcome of this action? Application freezes and cannot be closed or killed. Terminals and other applications may also stop responding. After waiting for roughly 10-20 minutes, system recovers and syslog contains the kernel call trace. * What outcome did you expect instead? Application does not freeze when accessing network share via CIFS mount. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.2.0-4-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Debian 4.6.3-15) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.2.41-2 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.2.0-4-amd64 root=/dev/mapper/debian-root ro quiet ** Tainted: O (4096) * Out-of-tree module has been loaded. ** Kernel log: [180643.256045] CPU1 is up [180643.256217] Booting Node 0 Processor 2 APIC 0x1 [180643.256219] smpboot cpu 2: start_ip = 8c000 [180643.267132] Calibrating delay loop (skipped) already calibrated this CPU [180643.287539] NMI watchdog enabled, takes one hw-pmu counter.
