Yes indeed; 1.8.11 also has that bug, but 1.8.12 includes the fix. As I said, the reason for not packaging 1.8.11 was that it had only bug fixes that are already fixed in Debian. Right now we are waiting for the gnome1/png/imlib migration into testing. Nothing can be changed in these packages (which includes gnucash) until that transition completes, which should be in the next week or so.
