I have problems reproducing your issue, or maybe I fail to understand
the problem. From your example, I see that

- in $obj1 and $dump1, a and c are numbers (no quotes)

- in $obj2 and $dump2 (and $ex), a and c are strings (have quotes),
  except that re.pl doesn't display the quotes on $obj2 - but e.g.
  Data::Dumper does

So these two objects are different, and they stay different. That's how
it's supposed to be, no?


Xavier: Could you check the "Forwarded to" bug? I think the upstream bug
was fixed years before this bug was opened, and in a previous major
version of JSON - so while it's similar, it's not the same bug, and I
doubt it was fixed in JSON 2.57??
