By running xdg-open on the webapp's html file. You can generally configure what this does in your desktop environment. The desktop typically lets browsers make increasingly tall claims about how good they are in .desktop files, and trusts whichever browser it thinks has the best story. Or maybe the desktop enviornment lets the user choose, but my experiences with that have not been too pleasant. Unfortunatly, this is still the best system we have available, and it works at least most of the time. For times when it does not, we do have this nice, clean web.browser override you can put in your global .gitconfig. -- see shy jo
