For some reason something really wrong happen on vtk 5.8.0 since volview was build As a result volview refuses to starts with a message: $ /usr/bin/volview /usr/lib/VolView/VolView: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libKWWidgets.so.1.0.1009: undefined symbol: Vtkimagingtcl_Init Simply rebuilding it entirely fixes the symptoms.
