As another test, I built a new VM using an official Debian testing amd64 netinst ISO file on my server running the latest version of VirtualBox from Oracle (4.2.10). As mentioned above, the guest additions found in the repositories were automatically added to the VM as expected but they failed with the same errors when attempting to install. make.log: http://pastebin.com/pJdCnHWa
Attempting to start the guest additions service results in the following error (as expected): root@ocxbuild3:~# /etc/init.d/virtualbox-guest-utils start [....] Starting VirtualBox AdditionsVBoxService: error: VbglR3Init failed with rc=VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND failed! This is the same error that I received when attempting to start them from my live-build ISOs. Matt Bentley
