The README for that package is informative. Please see the "Selection of the renderer: Ghostscript or Poppler" and "POSTSCRIPT PRINTING DEBUG MODE" sections in particular. Note that a file in /tmp/printout should be capable of being viewed by a PostScript viewer such as gv.
