I was trying to reproduce the bug, but have no success. Installed amarok, checked sound; installed kde-telepathy, checked sound; checked sound in amarok. Everything works. Did you change something in your system "by hand"? Why did you not have pulseaudio in the system. Lowering the severity of the bug, I do not see anything critical here.
