Package: guile-2.0 Version: 2.0.5+1-3 Severity: important Seen when trying to build autogen with guile-2.0. Many packages seem to rely on this version number, so it's not ok to change this in a distro context. So please don't change it, but add the package name in some way if you really have to (guile-1.8 doesn't behave this way).
Many packages have a --with-pkgversion= configure option which probably is the thing which should be used: $ gcc --version gcc (Debian 4.7.2-5) 4.7.2 (sid)doko@gb:~$ ld --version GNU ld (GNU Binutils for Debian) 2.22 I think there is even a FSF policy how version strings should look like. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
