Yep, I cannot reproduce either (with sid's Xfce), but based on the your detailed description seems the window size when maximized is confusing either xfwm4 or the xfc4-panel. No other panel has such problem so it doesn't look like a claws-mail bug. Can you try with latest version (3.9.0-2, from experimental, but should be installable in wheezy) and see if it behaves better? > > Any suggestions how to get more info? You can look for them in your ~/.claws-mail/clawsrc or, preferably, use the clawsker program to inspect and/or change them (in the Windows tab, Main subtab), and check if this makes any difference. From your description is clear that default values are sane enough, so maybe resetting them suffices to fix this.
