This is due to tesseract 3.02 doing things differently, and has been fixed in gscan2pdf 1.1.1. However, I am not going to upload that until wheezy has been released in order not to make it difficult to fix RC bugs, should they be found. The attached patches fix things for me. I'll upload a new version with them applied as soon as I have time.
