Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
On a clean Wheezy install (installed 1-2 months ago). I imported my
remmina profiles (~/.remmina/*.remmina) to the new system and moved most
profiles to a "/Old" subdirectory (that was a while ago).
Today I created a new profile to connect to my laptop running Squeeze (I
didn't realize I had one already in "/Old") and it crashed my session.
Consistently. Then I realized I had the other profile and that one
worked.
The error message I was getting was a black screen with white text in
the middle saying "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has
occurred and the system can't recover." Then I was prompted to log out
and try again, with the only choice being to click on the "Log Out"
button.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
To find the issue I started syncing the new profile to match the old
one, testing at every step. It did not help.
Then I compared the remmina profile files in ~/.remmina, and started
syncing setting one after the other and testing at every step.
* What was the outcome of this action?
The new profile was only missing a few lines. The profile stopped
crashing gnome after I added "viewmode=4". Before that I had added
"keyboard_grab=1" and "scale=0" without any change.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Either remmina should add "viewmode=4" to new VNC profiles, or it
shouldn't crash gnome without it.
* Logs: I didn't find anything useful in /var/log/ & subdirectories,
looking for segfault, segv and remmina (case-incensitive). I saved the
~/.xsession-errors files for one of the run. I will attach the files if
prompted, or in a followup, as i'm using the text-mode reportbug (the
gui keeps crashing, 2nd time I write all the text above and now it just
won't run)
