I dig a bit deeper in it, and the package amule-gnome-support just installs a schema file, and calls dh_gconf, which was originally written in Ubuntu. I know nothing about it, so If you know how to convert it to GSettings and what it needs to be done to install it and make it visible on the GNOME de, then we can update it.
