Marking menu as "Multi-Arch: foreign" would allow it to satisfy dependencies from non-native packages. (In my case, it would allow me to transition from fluxbox:i386 to :amd64.) (Of course, I'm assuming that all dependencies on menu are from packages wishing to run its binaries, and nothing more. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) diff --git a/debian/control b/debian/control index ab27f7a..bff235b 100644 --- a/debian/control +++ b/debian/control @@ -7,6 +7,7 @@ Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 5), texinfo, debiandoc-sgml, gettext Package: menu Architecture: any +Multi-Arch: foreign Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends} Suggests: menu-l10n, gksu|kdebase-bin|kdebase-runtime|ktsuss|sux Description: generates programs menu for all menu-aware applications -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/3 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages menu depends on: ii dpkg 1.16.9 ii install-info 4.13a.dfsg.1-10 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libgcc1 1:4.7.2-5 ii libstdc++6 4.7.2-5 menu recommends no packages.
