That is strange given that systemd is not involved with hibernate/resume
at allWhen you resume a hibernated system, you could even drop the
init=/bin/systemd boot parameter, since init is not started on resume..
Resuming from hibernate is entirely handled within the initramfs.

How do you set the resume partition? boot parameter,
/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume?

What kind of hibernate do you use:
in-kernel, uswsusp, tuxonice?
Which helper do you use pm-utils/pm-hibernate?
