package: gnome-packagekit severity: normal In normal cases this can be considered a wishlist bug, but since this is the default package management program installed with CD 1, I think this feature is important when a user just downloads only CD 1. Since we can't fit most required packages in CD 1 a user would want to scan more cds or dvds or add a network mirror after installation. Currently gnome-packagekit does not have these options. So we should have
1. Easy way to scan more cds, dvds or usb/local disk repos (synaptic already has an option to add cdroms) 2. Easy way to add a network repository similar to how the installer does it. Debian Installer might already have the full mirror list. (this could be a good addition to synaptic as well) See also http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=697868 (trying to give a user the best experience possible with CD 1) -- പ്രവീണ് അരിമ്പ്രത്തൊടിയില് You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as they follow the rules: laws and constitution. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
