Package: openshot Version: 1.4.3-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? I started openshot from the commandline. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I started openshot from the commandline. * What was the outcome of this action? openshot started successfully, but needs about 30% of CPU on my 2 GHz Core 2 Duo, while doing nothing other than displaying the UI. Sometimes, video playback is also sloppy (with mpeg2, 720x576). * What outcome did you expect instead? openshot does not use 30% of CPU but something like 1%, video plays smooth all the time. Besides, I looked into strace and saw many repeated lines of the form > recvfrom(5, 0x1de82c4, 4096, 0, 0, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily > unavailable) poll([{fd=6, events=POLLIN}, {fd=5, events=POLLIN}, {fd=9, > events=POLLIN}, {fd=10, events=POLLIN}, {fd=18, events=POLLIN}], 5, -1) = 1 > ([{fd=6, revents=POLLIN}]) pidof openshot was 15535, output of ls -lah /proc/15535/fd/: > total 0 > dr-x------ 2 rohieb rohieb 0 Jan 17 01:24 . > dr-xr-xr-x 8 rohieb rohieb 0 Jan 17 01:24 .. > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 0 -> /dev/null > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 1 -> /dev/tty1 > lr-x------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 10 -> anon_inode:inotify > l-wx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 11 -> /dev/urandom > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 12 -> socket:[180000] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 13 -> anon_inode:[eventfd] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 14 -> anon_inode:[eventfd] > lr-x------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 15 -> > /home/rohieb/.openshot/sequence.mlt > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 16 -> socket:[180004] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 17 -> socket:[180005] > lr-x------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 18 -> pipe:[180875] > lr-x------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 19 -> pipe:[180011] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 2 -> /dev/tty1 > l-wx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 20 -> pipe:[180011] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 21 -> socket:[180845] > l-wx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:32 22 -> pipe:[180875] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 3 -> /dev/urandom > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 4 -> pipe:[179997] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 5 -> socket:[179994] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 6 -> anon_inode:[eventfd] > lrwx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 7 -> pipe:[179997] > lr-x------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 8 -> anon_inode:[timerfd] > l-wx------ 1 rohieb rohieb 64 Jan 17 01:24 9 -> socket:[179998] Thanks, Roland -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openshot depends on: ii fontconfig 2.9.0-7.1 ii gtk2-engines-pixbuf 2.24.10-2 ii librsvg2-common 2.36.1-1 ii melt 0.8.0-4 ii python 2.7.3~rc2-1 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-3 ii python-httplib2 0.7.4-2 ii python-imaging 1.1.7-4 ii python-mlt5 0.8.0-4 ii python-pygoocanvas 0.14.1-1+b3 ii python-support 1.0.15 ii python-xdg 0.19-5 Versions of packages openshot recommends: ii frei0r-plugins 1.1.22git20091109-1.2 pn openshot-doc <none> Versions of packages openshot suggests: ii blender 2.63a-1 ii inkscape 0.48.3.1-1.3 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
