Package: openshot
Version: 1.4.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
I started openshot from the commandline.

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
  ineffective)?
I started openshot from the commandline.

* What was the outcome of this action?
openshot started successfully, but needs about 30% of CPU on my 2 GHz Core 2
Duo, while doing nothing other than displaying the UI. Sometimes, video playback
is also sloppy (with mpeg2, 720x576).

* What outcome did you expect instead?
openshot does not use 30% of CPU but something like 1%, video plays smooth
all the time.

Besides, I looked into strace and saw many repeated lines of the form
> recvfrom(5, 0x1de82c4, 4096, 0, 0, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
> unavailable) poll([{fd=6, events=POLLIN}, {fd=5, events=POLLIN}, {fd=9,
> events=POLLIN}, {fd=10, events=POLLIN}, {fd=18, events=POLLIN}], 5, -1) = 1
> ([{fd=6, revents=POLLIN}])

pidof openshot was 15535, output of ls -lah /proc/15535/fd/:
> total 0
