Regarding message #20 in #696845: Yes, users of testing should expect
breakage, however I have been running testing for over 6 years now and
in that time I have experienced updates breaking the system less than once
a year. The majority of these were related to dovecot however.
I do appreciate all the work all maintainers but into dovecot package and
Debian in general. I just want to let you know that less breakage in
testing is also very much appreciated :-)
I am sorry for the disruption. Believe me I am not trying to do it on
purpose!
The Dovecot package needs more users to try it in unstable so problems are
noticed before they get to testing or stable. It also needs more frequent
releases so that each new version is not such a big change. All of this
requires more people to help maintain the package. So if you or anyone
you know can do so, please step forward!
