There is no bug report yet. My intention was opening a new one once we have 
figured out this unowned files problem (just in case I am still missing 
anything). And depending of my free time, I might try to write a patch for 
odbcinst, but I can't promise anything.

Ok, just tell me if it works for your or not, if it does I'll file the bug 
against odbcinst and I'll include a reference to the bug in the prerm script 
comments, as you suggest.
