That's basically the steps I used too, more or less, when trying to
reproduce it locally, except that I used qemu-kvm instead of vmware.
And yes, I can confirm it isn't easily reproducible. There's something,
some local change/thing, which makes this bug to appear, and it isn't
clear so far what it is, exactly.
I cleaned up the scripts a bit since that time, stuff should work a bit
more reliable, so hopefully it is fixed, but we aren't sure yet, and
since the bug is rather serious, I don't want to close it without strong
confirmation or without finding the root cause.
