--ignoremonitoring seems to be added for lvcreate, but not for lvremove in squeeze. Maybe lvm2 should recommend the package dmeventd, because without dmeventd installed most lvm2 commands issue the warning:
/sbin/dmeventd: stat failed: No such file or directory
("Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden" in german)
