Hi,

> * Wodim: refuses to use BD altogether

One should not even use it with DVD.

> XF Burn: [...] and works fine :-)

This one is supposed to use libburn as backend.
At least http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/xfburn says so.

In that case, xorriso should work fine too. So you should next
bring your Brasero to a version which has a chance to get the
attention of maintainers.
Maybe it already does BD by miracle.

  http://git.gnome.org/browse/brasero/tree/?id=BRASERO_2_30_3
had its last update in 2010.
I see in

http://git.gnome.org/browse/brasero/tree/libbrasero-burn/brasero-burn-dialog.c?id=BRASERO_2_30_3
a distinction of BRASERO_MEDIUM_FILE, BRASERO_MEDIUM_DVD, BRASERO_MEDIUM_CD
but no BRASERO_MEDIUM_BD or alike.
Although there is a BRASERO_MEDIUM_BD in

http://git.gnome.org/browse/brasero/tree/libbrasero-media/brasero-media.h.in?id=BRASERO_2_30_3

> BTW, we could also communicate in German.

Ok for me. But not on the Debian bug tracker. :))

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
