As expected, the problems do not occur, when one uses lmodern packages made for teTeX 3, ie, in a clean pbuilder with an additional deb http://people.debian.org/~frn/teTeX-3.0 sid/binary-all/ in /etc/apt/sources.list, 'apt-get install lmodern' works without problems. I *think* this bug can be reassigned to lmodern and closed by the upload of a teTeX 3 compatible package. Florent, Frank, what do you think? cheerio ralf
