I could clearly reproduce closed (archived) bug no. 653429, with little bit more severity: the built-in touchpad worked correctly without problems, but the external usb mouse usually not working: after booting the system the external mouse works. When I not use it for a few seconds, the optical led is turned off and mouse replies never more... except when I switch to terminal (ctrl+alt+f1) with running gpm - mouse starts, but after unused for a few seconds the optical led is turned off and mouse replies never more... except when I switch back to X (ctrl+alt+f7/8/9) - mouse starts, but after unused for a few seconds the optical led is turned off and mouse replies never more... and so on, and so on...
