I have the same issue, but it is caused by my dislike of firewire on my

pabs@chianamo ~ $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/pabs-blacklist.conf
# Firewire physical DMA is a security issue
blacklist ohci1394
install ohci1394 false
options ohci1394 phys_dma=0
blacklist firewire_ohci
install firewire_ohci false
options firewire_ohci phys_dma=0
blacklist firewire_core
install firewire_core false
options firewire_core phys_dma=0
blacklist firewire_sbp2
install firewire_sbp2 false
options firewire_sbp2 phys_dma=0
