Hi Samuel, hi Jean, hi Ohura,

this seems to be a jadetex problem, but things are unclear.

Thank you, this helps. However, before that I'd like to ask something
else:

[...]

If this were true, it would be a wonder that not all formats fail to
build, and there would be a big dpkg bug, because tetex-bin depends on
both packages. Was this really the state immediately after the upgrade
failed?

Now to the output file:

,----
| fmtutil-sys: running `etex -ini -jobname=jadetex -progname=jadetex &latex
jadetex.ini' ...
| This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.21a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.4) (INITEX)
| (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
|
|
| fmtutil-sys: running `pdfetex -ini -jobname=pdfjadetex -progname=pdfjadetex
&pdflatex pdfjadetex.ini' ...
| This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.21a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.4) (INITEX)
| (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
`----

So the problem seems to be jadetex, but I could install jadetex from
unstable just fine. Assuming that libkpathsea4 is in fact installed,
can you send us the output of the following commands:

kpsewhich -progname=pdfetex pdfetex.pool
kpsewhich jadetex.in

Regards, Frank
