Up until now I thought that a bare repository is only created if I
clone with "--bare"? The repository is provided by gitosis.

git clone --branch "$gitbranch" "$giturl" $FAI
So in this case it's "git clone --branch master git://gitserver/fai.git
/var/lib/fai/config" that's being executed.
If I do that locally on a machine it clones the repository perfectly
well.
This confuses me ...
