Package: mozilla-plugin-vlc Version: 0.8.4-svn20050920-3 Severity: normal Hi Sam,
mozilla-plugin-vlc works fine, but it doesn't seem to be willing to stream. if i look at a movie like this one http://www.lafkon.net/tc/ , i have to wait until the entire movie has been downloaded before it starts playing. if instead i look at the source of the page, copy the movie url, and run 'vlc http://www.archive.org/download/TrustedComputing/TrustedComputing_LAFKON_MID.mov' the movie starts almost instantly. [well, actually it's a not a very good example, archive.org does not seem to have enough bandwidth. these ones work better: http://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2005/debconf5/ ] cheers, piem -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: powerpc (ppc64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-powerpc64 Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages mozilla-plugin-vlc depends on: ii dbus-1 0.23.4-7 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libc6 2.3.5-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdvbpsi4 0.1.5-1 library for MPEG TS and DVB PSI ta ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-2 GCC support library ii libhal0 0.4.8-7 Hardware Abstraction Layer - share ii libice6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libogg0 1.1.2-1 Ogg Bitstream Library ii libsm6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++6 4.0.2-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtheora0 0.0.0.alpha4-1.1 The Theora Video Compression Codec ii libx11-6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9 X Window System protocol client li ii libxt6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii vlc 0.8.4-svn20050920-3 multimedia player for all audio an ii xlibs 6.8.2.dfsg.1-9 X Window System client libraries m Versions of packages mozilla-plugin-vlc recommends: ii mozilla-browser 2:1.7.12-1 The Mozilla Internet application s ii mozilla-firefox 1.0.7-1 lightweight web browser based on M -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
