It is apt-xapian-index that has the offending cron job, not python-xapian. The later is just a python interface to libxapian22 and is very much idle when installed by itself. Anyway, in the next release we will be downgrading apt-xapian-index to Suggests, since aptitude makes very little use of it. > Maybe a note about it should be made somewhere.
